Frequently Asked Questions

Is Counsely legal advice?

No. Counsely is an informational tool that uses AI to assist with contract analysis and drafting. All content is AI-generated and does not constitute legal advice. You should always consult a licensed attorney before signing or acting on any contract.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All document scanning (OCR) happens entirely on your device. Your contract text is only sent to the AI provider when you explicitly consent. No document data is stored on external servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What languages are supported?

Counsely supports 30 languages for both document scanning and contract generation, including English, Arabic, Portuguese, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and more. Bilingual contracts (dual-column PDF) are available for Pro subscribers.

How do credits work?

Credits are universal: 1 credit = 1 contract analysis, 2 credits = 1 contract creation. Credits never expire. You can purchase credit packs starting at $1.99, or subscribe to Pro for monthly usage limits.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to your iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Counsely. You can change your plan or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open Counsely > Settings > Restore Purchases. This will restore any active subscriptions or unused credits linked to your Apple ID.

How do I request a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple's refund process.

The app isn't scanning my document correctly. What should I do?

Ensure good lighting and that the document is flat and fully visible. For best results, use a high-contrast background. If scanning a photo, try importing the document as a PDF instead. Counsely supports 30 languages for OCR — the language is detected automatically.
